動詞の大切さは前回のブログでお伝えしましたが、
動詞の強い味方である「助動詞」の存在もとても大切です。
do / does /did
can / could
will / would
may / might
should / shall / must
*do / does / did は文の形を作る助動詞です。
これらの単語は、
文の最初に置くと疑問文(質問の文)になり、
主語と動詞の間に not(don’t, doesn’t, didn’t, can’t, couldn’t など) を入れると
否定文になります。
助動詞を使った便利な表現もたくさんあります。
May I ~(~してもよろしいですか?)
Can I ~(~してもいいですか?)
Will you ~(~してくれますか?)
Would you ~(~していただけますか?)
Would you like ~(~はいかがですか?)
I must ~(~しなければなりません)
あわせて、次のような表現も覚えるとより自然に話せるようになります。
I want to ~(~したい)
I have to ~(~しなければならない)
I need to ~(~する必要がある)
I like to ~(~するのが好き)
In my previous blog, I talked about the importance of verbs.
Today, I would like to introduce auxiliary verbs, which are strong partners of verbs.
do / does / did
can / could
will / would
may / might
should / shall / must
do / does / did are auxiliary verbs used to form sentences.
When these words are placed at the beginning of a sentence,
they make questions.
When you put not (don’t, doesn’t, didn’t, can’t, couldn’t, etc.)
between the subject and the verb,
the sentence becomes negative.
There are also many useful expressions using auxiliary verbs.
May I ~ ?
Can I ~ ?
Will you ~ ?
Would you ~ ?
Would you like ~?
I must ~ .
Also, learning the following expressions will help you speak more naturally.
I want to ~
I have to ~
I need to ~
I like to ~
You can practice these on the basic phrases page.
